AMC took a look at the biggest challenges facing the automotive industry in 2019-2023, an industry that has been described as “undergoing the most significant change since industrialized automotive manufacturing in 1908”.
AMC identified four key challenges for the industry:
- Overhauling the purchasing process
- The availability and interpretation of new data
- A.I. and Self-driving cars
- Environmental requirements
Key supply chain challenges
Though some of the most common supply chain challenges within the automobile industry have to do with keeping inventories levels well-stocked but not overstocked and require more creative inventory management . AMC noted that because the growth in the automotive industry over the last few years has been again optimistic , it's harder to keep up with increased volumes changed legislation and upstream supply chain tier 1 and tier 2 become more and more unreliable. This difficulty has led to supply shortages, and quality issues causing even worldwide recalls and the problem is increased by capacity loss and the loss of inhouse knowledge that occurred when the industry experienced its downturn due to a out stream of competences.
AMC can fill this vacuum and offers support for supply chain optimization with consultants that come from the industry. For more information and or support requests contact us today : info@AMC-Consultinggroup.com
